Jessica & Visha started Poche Posh after being frustrated at the lack of pockets in their own clothes, and excitement when getting clothes with pockets on them. Visha wrote a Facebook post in 2014 explaining how she wished her clothes had pockets. We had a dream to have an online store where it was easy to find clothes for the everyday on-the-go women, and that is exactly what we did :D
If you are on the internet at all, you would have seen at least 1 video, 1 tweet, Tumblr post, BuzzFeed video etc. talking about how women want pockets on their clothes. These posts inspired us to create Poche Posh, along with the fact that we wanted pockets too.
Jessica and Visha experienced these frustrations as well, and resorted to putting their phone in their bra, waistband, armpit and so on. The sweet bliss of finding pockets in our own clothes, made us want that feeling for all our clothes, and from all women too.
In January 2017 we posted a gif set on Tumblr, showing people that the thing they wanted (pockets!) now exists, and is a full-fledged online store. Women were so excited that we went viral overnight, and used Tumblr as a way to kick start Poche Posh into the awesome women's empowerment brand that we currently are.
Pockets are just the beginning, our goal is to create the ultimate women's fashion store, created by women and for women. There are a lot of problems with the women's fashion as a whole, and while we are tackling pockets for now ... see-through shirts, weird sizings, broader sizes, and more inclusiveness with models is coming soon. Stay with us for the journey to see what comes of Poche Posh :)
